good Good GOOD! Good in-ten-tions! Ahhh!

Every day I think, “Man, when I get home, I’m gonna get so much done.”
Then I get home and realize, “Man, I’m tired. I want to eat a non-nutritious meal and go to bed.”
Night after night. It’s kind of depressing. I’m thinking of getting a taser that I can use on myself to bring a sense of alertness back and get moving.
But, isn’t this what happens when you work all day and then come home and work all night only to go to bed and start the evil cycle all over again???
Despite my track record I still, without fail, find myself each afternoon having good intentions and high hopes for that evening. *sigh*

  1. It’s interesting that you wrote about this today because I have been thinking about you and all the stuff you have to get done. Please know that I am praying for you and thinking good thoughts about diligence and perseverence. (the praying part is most important) Also know that there will come a time in your life that the idea of sitting down to work on a project for an extended period of time without interuptions every three minutes will seem like a dream. So enjoy work while you work, even though that may seem hard, do it.
    Love you.

  2. I know how you feel Steph, and I often have papers that I need to grade when I’m not “at work,” and I can run into this a lot. Sometimes I’m gung-ho and polish them off easily, and other times, I avoid them like the plague far longer than I should.
Sometimes it’s just a matter of making myself go do them, and then I “get in the zone” and manage to get the work done. Same with the days where I just don’t feel like teaching; i’m all good when I get to the classroom.

  3. Dude! You got you taxes done already! It seems to me like you’ve got more than good intentions. I’m single and I pay someone to do my taxes (although, I’m thinking of trying it myself this year. I better get my butt in gear, though). Here’s a question: are you getting enough cardio excercise? That makes a huge difference for me in how much energy and concentration I have.

  4. Dude! Pay ME to do your taxes! I’m the tax law master. I know Federal, Minnesota, and California tax law better than the average civilian should. Legal deductions are my specialty.
Man, that year Josh and I worked thirteen jobs in Minnesota and California and moved twice…ICK. And we had retirement money invested all over the place. ICK ICK ICK. Those taxes were not a good time at all. But, now I’m the Master Tax Chicky! That should be my title. I wonder if mastertaxchicky.com is available….

  5. Steph, if you can give me a better deal than what I get, I’d be glad to pay you. I generally pay around $75.
