VB

Played volleyball yesterday for about 3 1/2 hours. I had a blast and was so tired by the end I could barely stand up. But, they convinced me to stick out one more game of 2-on-2. I’m such a sucker. I played with some people I haven’t met before and that was pretty neat. Afterwards, me, Dave, and Edwin went to the Marble Slab Creamery and had some ice cream. Good times.
I didn’t have to use my inhaler either! I think I’m slowly weaning myself off of that baby. Breathing gets tight sometimes though.

Choices, Choices

Because I shop at PetCo and have that stupid yellow card thing I have to carry around with me, I occasionally get coupons. The latest is a coupon for a free gift! I must choose from the following:
• LM Animal Farms Vita-Vittles Gold Small Animal Food, 2 lb. bag
• Kaytee Treat Stick for Birds
• Pet Gold Catnip, 1 oz.
• Tennis Ball
• Aquatic Gardens Deluxe Mini-Habitat (basically a little tank for a Beta fish…how it can be deluxe and mini at the same time is beyond me…)
• 25 Crickets, small or large
• Treats from Pet Bar, 1 lb.
I’m leaning towards either the tennis ball or the crickets. I don’t know what I’d do with 25 crickets…but I can be creative.

The Star Wars Universe

06/04/2005

Well, I saw the third Star Wars movie (Revenge of the Sith) in theaters a little while ago. It was pretty good…well, at least it was better than episode I and II. So, Josh and I went out and bought the episode 4-6 trilogy. I saw them a long time ago, when I was too young to appreciate them.
So, we watched A New Hope today and I really loved it. I mean, it has so many excellent and crappy qualities all at the same time. My favorite part is the contrast and play between Hamil and Ford’s characters because they’re so different. It reminds me of my entire family being kind of tough and no-nonsense like Han Solo. And Josh is like Luke because he’s really caring and curious. So, I was drawn to both characters and they basically cracked me up when together (like seeing Josh and my family interact).
So, now I’m hooked on it. I’m going to watch Empire Strikes Back next. I think that was the one I liked the best when I was a kid. Probably because of all those little ewoks…I wished they were real so I could have one.
The funny thing is that every time I see something I like about the Star Wars movies, I tell Josh, then make him promise not to tell anyone that I enjoyed it. I don’t want people to think I’m a big nerd or on my way to becoming a trekkie (sidenote: I actually refuse to watch Star Trek for fear that it could potentially turn me into a trekkie…something I definitely don’t want to be). So, if you read this, you have to promise not to tell anybody that I actually enjoy the horrible wonderfulness that is the Star Wars movies.
P.S. When I initially posted this, I acidentally wrote “Hans Solo.” Josh informed me that he was not Norwegian, so I fixed the error.

Blech

06/04/2005

My health is pretty the suck today. My throat started hurting yesterday and today it’s in full-blown hurt. I took some Dayquil and have been sucking on the sugar-free Halls cough drop dealies. I’d love to go running right this second but don’t think it’d be such a good idea. Maybe later today if I feel better…

More Stuff

06/02/2005

Well, I haven’t posted in awhile because…well, I pretty much have sucked at even reading e-mail for a bit. As for my H&F, I’ve gone running a few times. I also surfed for several hours and had three sweet, long volleyball games. Since it’s summer, my outdoor pals are starting up every week again, and I have some friends playing at other times too. I’m pretty pumped about that. I’m going to try to sell my surfboard so I can buy a 10 ft. longboard.

Back from the Hiatus

05/28/2005

Well, the last few weeks have been crazy-busy. Today is the first day in three weeks that I haven’t had at least one event that I have to go to. So, I slept in, watched a Gilmore Girls episode, gave the dog a bath, picked up some stuff. I’m hoping to catch a movie or some run-around time with Josh. Then, I’d like to finish planting the replacement flowers for my front flowerbed (stupid gophers). I’m trying to coax Josh into surfing a couple times this break too.
Josh is going to help me put together a list of things I should have blogged about over the past few weeks and then I’ll get that stuff up too. I’m planning on posting pictures of the Napoleon Dynamite dance that my small group did and also a video clip from the play I directed. Two girls ended up dropping at the last minute for a finals track tournament and I did one of the parts. Quite interesting. I applied for some summer work and have thoughts on that too. Oh, and Secret Pal week was awesome at my school, my secret pal r0x0r3d. Hmmm…oh, and my last living childhood pet passed on. That was a big surprise and totally sucks since he was my buddy. I won another technology award dealy and will write more on that too. Hmmm…and maybe more stuff.
I’m feeling slick though! Wonder if I can fit a good run in this evening. That should be fun.

Sheesh!

05/19/2005

My life has been crazy-busy lately and I have lots to rant about. But, unfortunately, I have no time to rant.
So, here’s an article that made me stand back and say, “Sheesh!”
I’ll come back and rant in a week or so when the play I’m directing is finally over with!

Ow, My Skin.

05/02/2005

I went to the dermatologist today because my skin rash hasn’t been healing. So, she had me lay down, Novocained my back, then took off a chunk of my skin to send to the lab. Isn’t that weird that a little circle of my skin got cut off? Sorry to those of you with weak stomachs, but I just think it’s strange. And I got 2 stiches and some special salve. Then she hooked me up with more ‘roids to help things heal. Stupid whatever it is.
